 Let’s Hear It for the End of the Decade --
And, finally it closes... 2009. Well, there were some highlights... I just can’t
remember them. So, accordingly, let us ring out the old, say good riddance, and ring and bring in the new with a giggle and a starry-eyed look of hope. To
wit, a Grasslands New Year’s Eve gig to commemorate the festivities:
Thursday, December 31 @ 100 South Chop House & Grille (100 S. York St., Elmhurst IL)
8pm -- Midnight
Grasslands Light
Well, we just found out the times of playing for this gig -- 8pm till midnight. Due to the rather
late nature of this booking, what typically might be played as a trio will be played as a duo, AKA “Grasslands Light.” That, of course, means that the Rev. Mr. Mike Church and I will be
spinning out tunes appropriate to the evening. Auld Lang Syne? I suppose so, although I think there’s a lot of Django on tap, as well as some of those more modern tunes we
deconstruct and present as touchstones of the past. Do come join us. 100 South is a very nice place, has great food, and a couple nice bars. We’ll be there; hope you will be as well.

The Stage Leftovers
Into the new year the Stage Leftovers come crashing. The usual eclectic mix of music will
deck the halls on this Feast of the Epiphany (sounds so much nicer than calling it the Feast of the Circumcision, as was done when I was a barefoot -- and scared -- young lad). Joe,
Joe, Pete, Rich, Les, Laurel, Brian and I will do our best to confuse each other and make nice with the tunes. No cover, so bring your own blanket. Make a request!
